Regional Birding Events
15th Annual Boulder Birding Big Day!
Co-sponsored by Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center and
Duluth Audubon Society
When: Saturday, May 15, 2010.
Time: (6:30 a.m. sign-in, breakfast treats) Birding from 7:00-11:00
a.m., complementary lunch to follow while tallying up the numbers.
Where: Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center, 7328 Boulder Dam
Road, Duluth, MN.
Purpose: To have fun and promote citizen science.
Additional Details:
Birders are teamed up with local experts to see how many
species they can count.
This is the 15th year of the event. Record number of species
counted previously has been
93 out of the total number of 200 species possible. Birders
are free to go anywhere within
the Boulder Lake Management Area (18,000 acres). Pontoon
rides will be available to observe
shorebirds and waterfowl.
Free and open to all levels of birders.
